Before we were Crunch Roll, we were Xcell Roll – a small family-run bánh mì stall in Mt Druitt, born out of a genuine love for Vietnamese bánh mì and a wish to bring the flavours of home a little closer to everyone
Crunch Roll began in 2018 under the name Xcell Roll, which is a small bánh mì stall built by one family in the Mt Druitt area of Sydney. We're a genuine
family business, where every element, from the pâté to the pickles to the sauces, was tasted and perfected by the family themselves.
The person behind that very first menu was Tuấn Anh, our founder and original menu developer. With a close understanding of the tastes and habits of
Mt Druitt's diverse local community, Tuấn Anh spent time shaping every roll and every filling, so the food stayed true to traditional Vietnamese flavours
while still feeling approachable and familiar to local customers.
From day one, the model was clear: takeaway first, with just a few small tables for anyone who wanted to sit and enjoy their meal on the spot. Quick
and simple, but still warm and welcoming.
Xcell Roll opens our first counter in Mt Druitt with a tight, focused menu built around traditional bánh mì and rice paper rolls, made fresh each day;
every recipe developed directly by founder Tuấn Anh.
Beyond bánh mì, Xcell Roll goes back to the deeper roots of Vietnamese cuisine: bún, phở, sugarcane juice, Vietnamese iced coffee and coconut juice all
join the menu, offering a fuller experience for customers, from a quick breakfast to a satisfying lunch

Our brand is officially renamed from Xcel Roll to Crunch Roll – a friendlier, easier name to remember, while staying true to the “properly crunchy”
standard built from day one.
+ Second store: Melrose Park On 29 July 2026, we opened our second store in Melrose Park, continuing our journey and bringing the same fresh-baked standard to more of Sydney.
Crunch Roll begins supplying dough, pâté and pickles to other cafés, and opens the door to franchise partners who want to bring the brand to their own suburb.
